PHOENIX, AZ (June 29, 2026) – On Memorial Day, May 25, 2026, an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper shot and killed 39-year-old Berkleigh Jade Bond during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near Benson, Arizona.
On behalf of our clients, Berkleigh’s children, we demand full transparency, independent oversight, and accountability. Berkleigh leaves behind children seeking the truth about how and why she died.
Call for Immediate Transparency
Litster Dugwyler has opened a civil investigation into the circumstances surrounding Berkleigh’s death, including the submission of formal public records requests under A.R.S. § 39-121 et seq. seeking, among other things, all body-worn and dash camera footage, investigative files, and the involved trooper’s disciplinary history.
We call on the Arizona Department of Public Safety to immediately release to the public all unedited footage from the incident, as well as the name of the trooper involved in the shooting.
“Our clients lost their mother. They deserve the truth, and our community deserves transparency,” stated Jonathan Litster of Litster Dugwyler. “We will pursue every avenue of civil justice available to this family until Berkleigh’s children have the answers they deserve,” noted Brent Dugwyler of Litster Dugwyler.
